Numerous studies have shown that Vitamin D is very important for supporting your immune system, strong bones, muscle function, and heart health. Having enough vitamin D in your body reduces the likelihood of getting the flu or Covid, and lessens the symptoms if you happen to get one of those illnesses. Some recent research even hints that a high level of vitamin D can help to give you a glowing complexion and improved mental clarity. Your skin naturally produces vitamin D from sunlight, so sensible sun exposure is the basic source. But even if you are in the sun almost every day, that may not be enough. The standard recommended level of vitamin D in your blood is at least 30 ng/ml, and levels below 20 ng/ml are considered deficient. Many health professionals say that the optimal level is 50-70 ng/ml, and to reach this it is usually necessary to take a supplement. Depending on your need and size, it is recommended to take from 2,000 to 4,000 IU (international units) per day. For maximum absorption and efficiency it should be taken with vitamin K2 and magnesium.
