Music at 432 Hz: Nature’s vibration

Most of the world’s music is tuned to the level of 440 Hz (Hertz), which means that the music vibrates 440 times per second. However, a growing number of musicians and researchers feel that this level is not in harmony with the vibrations of the universe. Science tells us that everything in the universe has a vibration – the stars, the planets, our bodies, DNA... everything. So if the music we hear is not in synch with our natural rhythms, perhaps it is not generating the best effects in our consciousness. This has led to a trend of tuning music to 432 Hz which is said to be consistent with the eternal vibratory patterns of the universe, and thus more in tune with our bodies and our minds.

Those who favour 432 Hz say that it makes the music softer and brighter with greater clarity. Many claim that people experience a more meditative and relaxing state of body and mind when listening to music at this natural pitch of the universe. Several music producers and DJs here on Ibiza are making the switch to 432 Hz. One of them is Marko Bussian who is a musical director at the Ibiza Spirit Festival, and a founding member of the acclaimed group Fous de la Mer. The group has recently launched their latest Cosmic Sea album entitled SEVEN, and it is all tuned in 432 Hz. They will be coming to Ibiza to play a live set from this album at the next Ibiza Spirit Festival on 6 October, at Atzaró.
