Gardening is Good for Your Health

A study from Britain’s Royal Horticultural Society surveyed more than 6,000 people, and the results showed that those who garden regularly have better health and less stress. The leader of the study, Dr Lauriane Chalmin-Pui said: “The evidence overwhelmingly suggests that the more frequently you garden, the greater the health benefits. Gardening at least two or three days a week has the same positive impact on wellbeing as vigorous exercise like cycling.” She went on to add that, “When gardening our brains are pleasantly distracted by the nature around us. This shifts our focus away from our stresses, and reduces negative feelings.”
