"Hotel Can Talaias"               While riding horseback one morning in the
late sixties, actor/comic Terry Thomas and
his wife Belinda discovered
“ Can Talaias”   What they found was a old run-down, hill-top finca surrounded by dry wheat fields and carob trees. The views were breathtaking and for them it was heaven on earth.                             It took two years to build the main house which was extended from the origional finca.   The improvements were done in a gorgeous Ibicencan style with thick walls and soft rounded edges. Of course the eccentric luxuries found their places in the dark wood floors, the large arched windows (with cushions) and the lovely fire-places.     Ten years ago Can Talaias became one of the first Agroturismo Hotels on the island.   They cultivate a variety of different types of indigenous plants to the Baleares, especially for the waterwise gardens.     Today it is being run by Cushan (youngest son of Terry Thomas) and Laetitia (his partner).
