Can New Forests Solve Climate Change?

A study by the Crowther Lab of Zurich claims that the most effective way to combat climate change is to plant massive new forests. Around one billion hectares of land worldwide are suitable for this reforestation, which could ultimately capture two thirds of human-made carbon emissions. According to Professor Crowther: “We all knew that restoring forests could play a part in tackling climate change, but we didn’t really know how big the impact could be. Our study shows that forest restoration is the best climate change solution available today.”
