The money raised on Ibiza has been used to build a rainwater harvesting system with an underground cistern, plus a data projector, computers and other educational materials. There is also a vibrant cross-cultural exchange that connects the children of the Tanzanian school with students in the Sant Joan primary school. Valerie travels periodically to Tanzania, and the children at both schools love seeing the photographs and videos that she shares with them.
Another part of RTs mission is to sponsor education for children from impoverished backgrounds. Two of these children have been sponsored by Sant Joan residents. Laurencia is a good student whose ambition is to be a doctor, and she is sponsored by Margarita Torres of the Sant Joan Pharmacy. Moses is a boy who does not have the use of his legs from the knee down. He loves reading and dreams of becoming a librarian when he grows up. He is sponsored by Tonyi from the Sant Joan public library, Imma who is the nurse at the Sant Joan medical centre and Valerie.
