The winds of change can often blow into our lives at the most surprising moments. There are times when things are going along smoothly and you think you have everything pretty much under control, but then… oops! Something unexpected comes out of the blue to rock your world by creating big changes in some area of your life. It can be relationships, finances, health, career, or whatever. Dealing with these upheavals always presents a challenge, and the ultimate goal is to work through them so that you can get your life back on track. So here are a few simple tools to help you handle life’s ups and downs.
1) Accept What Is
It is important to adjust your perspective so that you fully understand that the change has already occurred, and you cannot turn back time. Take a deep breath and realize that your willingness to fully accept this new aspect of your situation is a crucial step in your ability to integrate it into your life. Remember that every change represents an opportunity to find a new direction.

2) Trust the Process
What looks like a disaster at first can often turn out to be a blessing. Think back to the many times in your life that positive things have developed from what initially seemed like a bad situation. This may not happen every time that something unfortunate comes up. But at the very least, you will have learned another lesson in how to handle adversity.
3) Ask for Guidance
Quiet your mind so that you can listen for the wisdom that comes from your heart, and then ask it to tell you what to do next and how to do it. This is your inner GPS system, and it will always give you the right answers as to what direction to take in your life. The way to do this is through practices that teach us how to access inner stillness, because in order to find the wisdom of your heart you must first get past the chatter of your mind. Meditation is just one of the many ways to find that peaceful place within, so whatever method feels right for you is your perfect path.

4) Take the Next Step
Life always proceeds one step at a time, and sometimes that first step can be the hardest one to take. Summon the courage to leave the past behind and set forth on your new journey. Once you get moving in a new direction with positive energy, things will start to fall into place.

5) Count Your Blessings
Consciously give thanks for all of the good things in your life - large and small. Once you start to really look around you will see that there is so much to be grateful for. Doing this on a regular basis will lift your vibrations so that you can face new challenges with calm confidence. This positive attitude will help you to see the new opportunities that life’s changes may open up for you.

The only way  to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it,  and join the dance.
