Tips for Healthy Skin

By Sabina Brownstein
Healthy skin comes from a healthy lifestyle, so here are some simple ways to help keep your skin supple and beautiful: It is important to drink enough water because dehydration causes your skin to look dull, flaky and loose. Also, get at least seven hours of good sleep each night to give your skin time to regenerate - and sleep on your back to avoid wrinkling of your facial skin. Eating foods that are rich in antioxidants reduces inflammation which is a leading cause of aging skin. Some of the best sources of antioxidants are: broccoli, red grapes, dark chocolate, berries and green leafy vegetables. Also, make sure that you get healthy oils and fats in your diet from foods like avocadoes, coconut oil and olive oil. These help to make the outer layer of your skin firmer.

Gently massage your skin with natural plant oils in the morning and evening. It’s best to use organic high quality skin care products, or create your own with natural ingredients like jojoba oil, shea butter, coconut oil and rose hip oil (Rosa Mosqueta). And finally, treat yourself and your skin to a relaxing facial every once in awhile. Facial massages work as natural facelifts by stimulating the skin cells... and they feel wonderful! •
